Thursday: Draw the setting of any story. Use your library book for extra credit and then put it in your backpack so that you don't forget it for Media tomorrow.

I hope that everyone read over our EXTENDED vacation! It is time to get back into the swing of things around here! We will not have our Valentine's Day party, but I will allow the students to hand out their Valentines because I know how hard they worked on them.
Tuesday: Ways to respond to books. Please keep this paper and ask your child 1 or 2 of the questions a night.
Wednesday: Subtracting homework. Please use manipulatives. Some things you can use are snack foods, pennies, marbles, small toys, etc.)
Thursday: Red word homework
Friday: Please remind your child to bring in their library books!
Next Monday, we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. Please have your child send in any Dr. Seuss books they may have at home to be shared with the class:)

This week is our Read-a-thon at Westover. Please make sure your child reads for 15 minutes a night and fill in the form in their homework folder.
I am sending multiple books inside of book baggies. Please read 1 or 2 a night. You will see repeats come home. It is a good idea to reread known books to help your child build confidence and fluency.
This weeks homework is to READ READ READ!!!
Also, please note that 100 day projects are now due on Friday.

Wednesday: Read My E book. Practice reading the calender and solve word problem.
Thursday: Pick a book from home or use your library book and write about the characters in the story.

Monday: Letter N: Please have students write a sentence to go with their pictures.
Wednesday: Math: Practice counting by 1's, 2's,5's and 10's. Complete number story worksheet.
Thursday: Pick any book and sequence events. Please make sure your child is using words like First, Next and Last while verbally retelling the story.

Unfortunately, I am changing the date of our Gingerbread houses to Friday 12/20. We will begin at 12p.m. I am sorry for the confusion and hope that anyone that was planning to attend can still make it!
Monday: Students will cut pictures and sort by beginning sound. Please have students label the pictures as well.
Wednesday: Students will use their 100 grid to count. Please follow the directions sent home.
Thursday: Students will read a book of their choice and list/draw all the characters in the story.
